Esher High School 2023 GCSE Results 'remarkable achievements'

We are absolutely delighted with the amazing performance of our students in their GCSE and vocational exams this year.

Mr King, Headteacher, shares this message to all the EHS students who took part; “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to every one of you for successfully navigating through an exceptionally challenging period of two years, as you diligently prepared for your GCSEs and vocational courses. We are well aware of the obstacles you have faced along the way, and equally aware of the remarkable dedication and effort you have invested. You all have every reason to feel an immense sense of pride in your accomplishments!”

In a year with grades returning closer to 2019, our students have again performed above national figures. 28% of grades achieved were at 7 or above, which equates to 6% above national figures and 77% of all grades were at 4 and above (national figure 68.2%), with 95 of our students achieving above national figures. We had a phenomenal 93 grade 9s achieved across all subjects.

There have been some exceptional individual performances this year.

  • Amelie 7 grade 9s and three grade 8s
  • Ozzy 5 grade 9s, two 8s and 3 grade 7s
  • Louisa 4 grade 9s, two 8s and 5 grade 7s
  • Sophie 4 grade 9s, 2 grade 8s
  • Alex 3 grade 9s, 5 8s, 2 grade 7s

Mr King added “Our students have every reason to hold their heads high with pride for their remarkable achievements. The results they've attained are nothing short of amazing, reflecting their dedication and hard work. Let's not forget, this is also a heartfelt tribute to our families, teachers, and support staff. Day in and day out, despite the challenges thrown our way in the past few years, they've been the driving force behind an incredible educational experience for our students”.
